Wildwood will be celebrating its seventh annual African-American Read-In this year throughout the day on Tuesday, February 4th. African American Read-In Day was started by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) in 1990. It is a way to recognize and become more familiar with the stories, books and poetry of African-American authors. Guest readers, such as community members, parents, extended family members, and college and high school students are invited into each classroom on this day to read a favorite book written by an African-American author. Everyone is welcome to join us for an all-school assembly at 9:10 am which will kick-off this special day.
