Friday, January 10, 4-7pm: Free Second Fridays at the Smith College Museum of Art gives visitors a special opportunity to explore the collections and engage with art on a deeper level. Create your own work of art, with hands on activities for all ages based on specific works in the museum and go on a special guided conversation tour. Light refreshments. Saturday, January 11, 10am-12noon: Winter Wildlife with Mass Audubon. Winter is upon us, and we humans adapt by wearing warm clothing and turning up our heat indoors. But what about wild animals? How do they survive the cold temperatures, snow, and ice? Learn the strategies that some of our native wildlife utilize. Each family will make a “jello critter,” insulate it, and hide it outside, to see if it survives or freezes! Conclude by warming up with a cup of hot chocolate. Preregister.
