M5 is the makerspace of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UMass Amherst. You are invited to drop by M5 on Saturday, December 9th any time between 2 pm and 4 pm to see the engaging Circuits & Code end-of-semester show. First-year ECE students Fatima, Emma, Nabilah, Allen, Simon and others will demonstrate their motorized Lego creations. ECE 297DP Design Project students will demonstrate their electronic music projects including Otto’s FM audio synthesis project. Casey will demonstrate musical floppy drives. Jeremy will demonstrate his own innovative and impressive 3D structures. Raghid will demonstrate the portion of his ECE Senior Design Project involving automotive on-board diagnostics (OBD), a term referring to a vehicle’s self-diagnostic and reporting capability. Keith will explain how he came to know than most people about Internet security and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Nick will demonstrate his mighty, mighty custom portable Nintendo 64. This science-fair formatted event is free and is open to all.
